LiveTranslate: how we pioneered real-time translation for live Web-TV
Years before automatic translation became a standard feature offered by major streaming platforms, Euroteam had developed and deployed LiveTranslate, a proprietary technology that removed language barriers in live streaming, enabling truly global communication with real-time translation.
This page documents that pioneering work.
This page documents that pioneering work.
Our technology was adopted in academic settings by Politecnico di Milano for international Masters programs, in medical events by FEMTEC (WHO affiliated), and in several international business meetings, multilingual conferences, and Web-TV productions.
How it worked
- Managed translation across the main world languages
- Introduced an imperceptible delay, so the speaker's gestures remained synchronized with the voice
- Integrated with our virtual studios, connecting speakers from all over the world
- Applied to conference rooms, eliminating the need for traditional simultaneous translation
- Applied to remote meetings, enabling two-way dialogue in real time

A simulated bilingual business meeting
LiveTranslate was also used in bidirectional mode, managing meetings between two remote organizations that did not share a language. A streaming delay of less than two seconds made real-time dialogue possible. For privacy reasons we never published a real meeting; to demonstrate the concept we simulated an English-Spanish meeting using avatars: watch the video.

Today this kind of real-time translation is offered natively by major streaming and conferencing platforms, so it is no longer a service we provide commercially. We keep this page as a record of an innovation we introduced well ahead of the market.
